ok, i got modern warfare 2 for christmas. i already had an xbox 360 and live. i have never had any problems at all with xbox live connecting (i use a wireless router) but on new years eve it started really screwing up when i went to play online for like the second time. i would turn on my xbox, it would say disconnected i would have to manually click and hit connect to xbox live when i had a 4 bar connection or whatever the maximum is. then i will launch modern warfare 2 and sometimes if its really bad it will take nearly 3 minutes just to pop up the opening infinity ward logo out of a black screen. then it will go to the main menu fine. i click on multiplayer and 75% of the time it will freeze here for like 2 minutes just to ask me what memory device i want to run off of. i choose harddrive. anyway i click on xbox live and it will say fetching new playlists and updating rank and emblems or something and updating something if forget and it will stick on this for nearly 10 minutes sometimes and just freeze and i have to reset my xbox. also if i hit “B” for cancel it will cancel but freeze and i cant do anything as XBOX LIVE button is highlighted at the main menu for the multiplayer. if the updating playlists doesnt happen i still dont take a breather because sometimes i will join and it wont find any good games. or it will just freeze there and either make me reset it or just after letting it freeze for 5-10 minutes will just crash and say “you need to be connected to xbox live to play online”. and it disconnects me from xbox live and then i manually hit connect to xbox live and it connects like first time. i thought it might be connection even though i knew it wasnt so i moved my xbox from its regular postition in our basement (two floors from the router) to my room the next room over from where the router is and im still getting all the same problems. i read some stuff online and it seems like it could be a disc problem from some stuff but also it seems it could be an online problem but both ps3s and xboxs are having this problem. all i know is that it isnt my internet connection, my adapter is fine, and my xbox is only like 5 months old so that is certainly not the problem so idk if i should return the game and get a new copy or what. also i treat my games like their the most valuable and precious things in the world and my games look absolutely brand new with not even a speck of dust on them, so dont say it could be laserburnt or anything because the disc is in perfect condition. i also have tried unhooking my adapter, leaving it undone, and then running modern warfare 2 and it runs fine and doesnt stop for a second. so thats where i also think that it isnt a disc problem but the multiplayer seems like it could be a disc problem because it freezes itself and its not xbox live that does it. idk. but its very frustrating and any tips at all would be ridiculously appreciated. or if their is an answer, please share hahah ten points definitely to the best answer,i promise. thanks again.
